Samantha Chappell - BSc (Hons) Cosmetic Science

Samantha Chappell, 21 years old from Welling in Kent. Samantha is in her 2nd year of the BSc Cosmetic Science degree.

Why did you want to study at LCF?

I did another course at LCF before starting this one. It was a National Diploma in Hair and Make Up Styling. I've always had a passion for cosmetics and this is a course that can get you into working in the cosmetics industry.

What are your hopes for the future?

After graduating I want to work with a big creative and innovative company like Procter and Gamble or L'Oreal. The variety of work areas in companies like those are great for getting more experience.

Has your approach to buying cosmetics changed since you started this course?

I buy because of colour predominately but I've also worked with a lot of products so I tend to stick with brands I know well like Mac, Make Up Forever, and MAX Factor.

What has been the best part of the course so far?

The chance to work with some of these big companies even whilst still studying is by far the best part. You get a really good idea of what's going to be required of you and how the companies work and develop their ideas. It's fantastic that we get the chance and it's a unique part of LCF. The College has built up some great contact over time and you can only benefit from them as a student.
