Becky Score - FdSc Beauty and Spa Management

Why did you choose LCF and FdSc Beauty and Spa Management?

LCF has always been known to me as I studied at London College of Beauty Therapy before. I was intrigued with the course because they use a wide range of product brands which is what I wanted.

Can you tell us a bit about your course? How much is practical and theoretical?

The course has an equal amount of practical and theoretical sessions. This is a great balance because it provides space between the two as its not fully hands on but not really intense with the theory side. In the course we are assessed on the treatments along with the theory.

What’s been the best part of your course so far?

Best part of the course for me was when Guinot had come into the facial classes. This was a great insight as Guinot is such a well known brand within the industry, and I also enjoyed using the machinery and products because they actually work! And you can see a difference!

Do you have much contact with industry on your course, either through placements or projects?

We have loads of opportunities to mix with different contacts in industry as we have a number of industry treatments to perform over the course. This is such a great opportunity to expand our knowledge and achieve the best we can.

What’s a typical week like for you?

A typical week is three to four days of attendance. These days are usually filled with practical sessions along with two lessons of theory. The week goes quite quickly because we have fun and interesting sessions.

How is your LCF experience so far?

I love the LCF experience so far. There are so many different courses and people to interact with. We have loads of events going on as well all around the different sites so there are plenty of opportunities to meet new people.

What’s London life like?

I have been brought up in London all my life, and for me its always been an interesting place. Everyday there is something new to see, find out or explore. In London there is never a dull moment and with the site I am at, John Prince's street, we are in the heart of the West End so it’s great for shopping, catching up with friends and exploring London to the fullest.

What are you hopes for when you have finished the course?

I hope to go on to a higher degree and achieve my very best. If not then I would like to have my own business and give back to the community what I have gained since being at LCF.
