Our full course schedule is published on the website. You will find that short courses run as evening and weekend classes, once a week, during term time. Courses run as daytime (Mon-Fri) intensive classes over the Christmas (December), Easter (April) and summer (June-September) vacations.
Our courses run as part-time evening/weekend classes over a number of weeks starting at the end of January (Spring-Term), the beginning of May (Summer-Term) and the end of September (Autumn-Term).
Courses run as full-time intensive, Monday to Friday, classes over vacations; in June, July and August (Summer-School), December (Christmas) and April (Easter).
Each course has its own schedule but most short courses run either as an Evening class (one evening a week for 5-9 weeks), Saturday class (all day each Saturday for 3-5 weeks) or as daytime classes over vacations (for 3-5 consecutive days). Many short course students do a number of courses to develop their range of skills and depth of knowledge.
How to book:

What is the latest I can apply? Can I reserve a space?
Our courses are very popular and many fill up several weeks before they start. Book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Course are small and places are limited. You must fully pay for a course in order to secure your place. If your employer is paying on your behalf your place won’t be confirmed until we have received a purchase order from your company.
Can we have a look around at the College/see the course before we book?
You’re welcome to come into the College (John Princes Street Room 111) and meet with one of our short course advisors. Due to the busy nature of the College you’re unable to look around our buildings prior to starting your course.
Will I receive a qualification?
At the end of the course, providing you've attended at least 80% of the classes, you'll receive a 'Certificate of Attendance'. This isn't a formal qualification, however, our fashion industry reputation as a training provider is widely recognised and many previous students have used our short courses to enhance their CV.
Will the short courses enable me to get a job/onto a full time course?
Short courses are a great way off demonstrating interest in a subject and a commitment to learning. Many of our former students have used their experience with us as part of a job or further study application.
Can I complete level 2 without level 1?
If you feel confident that you’re in possession of all the knowledge/skills covered in Level 1 then you’re welcome to book straight onto Level 2. Please read the course descriptions thoroughly as you cannot change your course once it has started.
If I cannot attend the course for a day/evening, what should I do?
Try to inform the short course office as soon as you know you will not be attending as it may affect group work and projects for certain courses.
