London and Paris are world renowned cities for retail, with London recently being identified as the world’s number one shopping capital with £62 billion sales.  This report of 22 worldwide shopping destinations confirmed London in first place and Paris in fourth place.   The quantity and quality of the shops in these two cities makes them very important and exciting destinations to visit if you want to study retail. The cities are showcases for different types of retail – department stores, luxury boutiques, ‘high street’ chains and concept stores – and dynamic new innovations can be found in fashion, accessories, shoes, object design and food.

This six day course across London (3 days) and Paris (3 days) will introduce you to the principles of visual merchandising, its practical application and the different roles of the visual merchandiser.  You will explore new ideas, how to inject excitement into stores, branding and the customer journey.  There will be a mixture of projects, lectures and group discussions along with store visits and field trips that will allow you to experience the retail fashion world in these two dynamic cities.

By the end of the course you will have a good understanding of visual merchandising and the role of the visual merchandiser. Daytime activities can be supported by your own exploration and enjoyment of London and Paris during the evenings.

The course includes:

  • The key principles of merchandising
  • Starting a career in Visual Merchandising
