The Executive MBA Fashion is a specialist management programme which provides a learning experience uniquely focussed on the fashion industry.
The objective of the EMBA Fashion is to enable individuals to broaden their career beyond specific industry functions such as design, PR and buying, to achieve more strategic senior-management roles. Students will be able to advance their careers while studying rather than taking time out of work for 18 months.
During the programme students will be able to enhance their problem solving, analytical and evaluative skills by combining theoretical knowledge with the day-to-day experience of their role in the workplace. The course is delivered through the use of contemporary industry focused content including case studies and industry speakers.
The programme is taught by staff with significant fashion business industry experience and current access to industry through consultancy projects and research, enabling them to meet the expectation and specific learning needs of our students.
Our EMBA programme is tailored to executives who are unable to commit to a full time course. As such, the course is flexible and will be delivered over four weekends per term and via e-learning.
The e-learning experience will include:
- The provision of a wide selection of uploaded learning materials, which can be downloaded by students for example lecture presentations, podcasts, and scanned documents.
- Discussion boards and chat room facilities.
During the course, there is an opportunity for students to study part of a unit abroad during one or more of the four weekends per term. We are currently in discussion with Mode Art (Paris, POLIMODA (Italy) and F.I.T (New York).
The EMBA Fashion offers an opportunity to combine the value of a professional education with a practical business experience and is expected to add value to the careers of senior managers by enhancing their capacity to innovate and create by fostering openness of mind, team sprit and responsible behaviour. Exposure to wider academic life at the College such as access to lectures and research seminars will enrich their understanding of fashion and the industry.
The course is a specialist management programme providing applicants with a tailored qualification that will be of optimum practical use to you in the workplace, the focus, content and experience of the EMBA Fashion will enable you to broaden your career path beyond specific industry functions such as design, PR and buying to achieve more strategic management roles.
We welcome students to the EMBA Fashion who are looking to accelerate their career to more senior management roles or to shift careers, whether that be changing industry or function, or moving into new markets.
Applicants will need to possess an honours level degree (2:1) or have significant industry experience.
If English is not your first language you will also need to have IELTS level 7 or equivalent.
